Looking Back and Pressing Forward

That's what 12 Boise women printmakers will be doing in the coming months. Looking back and pressing forward. To celebrate the Boise Sesquicentennial (that's a six syllable word for 150 years) Wingtip Press, Boise's Community Printmaking Studio, invited 12 Boise women printmakers to each select a woman who lived in Boise anytime during the last 150 years and create an edition of prints representing their selection. This is all possible through a generous grant from the Boise Department of Arts and History Boise 150 Celebration.

Each artist will create an edition of prints and will receive the complete portfolio of prints and the Boise Department of Arts and History will receive a complete portfolio for their archives.  The prints will be exhibited in Boise in March 2013 in honor of Women's History Month.  We'll be documenting the process, the artists and our subjects in the days ahead.
